Cancer Project: Food for Life Nutrition and Cooking Class!
Course Description:
The Open Mind Center, in partnership with The Cancer Project, is proud to offer the popular, Food for Life Cooking Class! This four class series focuses on the role that good nutrition plays in cancer prevention and survival. Our holistic nutritionist is also the local Cancer Project representative. She will be teaching the classes in which you will be learning about, cooking and tasting foods for cancer prevention and survival. The four classes, Fueling Up on Low-Fat Foods/ Favoring Fiber, Discovering Dairy Alternatives/Replacing Meat, Planning Healthy Meals/Maintaining a Healthy Weight, and Antioxidants and Phytochemicals/ Immune-Boosting Foods; will be held on Wednesday nights in December and January (see below for dates and times). As a participant in this course, you will have a handbook to use during the classes and will receive invaluable information, recipes and tips that you can incorporate into your family’s daily eating habits.
