Belly Dance for Intermediates
Course Description:
Belly Dance has deep traditional roots as well as modern forms of expression. It is danced to Egyptian classical music composed during the mid-20th century. The music is expansive and sweeping, with strong rhythmic lines and lyrical melodies. The dance reflects the music: expansive use of space and body line and varied qualities of movements ranging from powerful to refined through which the dancer can express the rhythm and 'feel' of the melodies. Intermediate classes are intended for students who have completed about 1-2 years of beginner level classes including beginner choreography. Students with similar training from other teachers are welcome. Belly Dancing Intermediate 1 classes cover Intermediate techniques including layering, traveling moves, and combinations. Dates for this series are 9/12, 9/19, 9/26, 10/3, 10/10 and 10/17. We will prorate the series if you start after it begins. Cost for a one-time class: $17
